Photography

I own a small photography business specializing in portraiture and weddings. I'm also experienced in all kinds of event photography and am available for freelance work.

Of course, the most beautiful of all: my daughter. :)

Design

If you're interested, I dabble in design. Here's a little of what I've done.

FOR BEST VIEWING: Please view in full screen, and in the upper right corner hover over options and UNCHECK the "embiggen" option! Otherwise the images will be fuzzy! Thanks!

There isn't an especially large amount of stuff on YouTube featuring me, but if you search, you'll find it. May as well share it!

Description: This is just a quick snippit of my theater acting, caught by a friend in the audience. The play was Beyond Therapy by Christopher Durang. I was Prudence. The play was as studio show at The University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg, Texas.

Description: Fairly long, but funny if you have the time! A friend cast me as Pam in his directorial debut, a stage adaption of a single episode of The Office. The show is in two parts.

Description: This is totally old, but it's had a number of views, so I thought it would be appropriate. (Is it? Hm.) This is pretty much the only time I've ever done this, but here is a video of me in 2007 singing in the office of my old and hoping no one notices the sour notes!

Music

These two are songs that were professionally, and beautifully recorded for me by Charlie Vela of Pillow Fort Studios in Edinburg, Texas: (http://www.facebook.com/pillowfort). They were written and recorded in 2008.

And here is a link to my Soundcloud account! I am constantly writing music, and though I may not update as often as I'm writing, I do make it a point to upload most songs as soon as they're complete and to my liking. Other than the two posted above, they're all scratch recordings for the meantime.

The following image is a beautiful bit of art that serves as a perfect visual component to an album I'll be recording this summer (2012) featuring music I wrote during a really ridiculously ridiculous time in my life. The art was done by the wonderful Daniel Jeffrey.

Press: Dignan @ The Proletariat (September 2, 2007)

Description: I can't take an ounce of credit for the amazing music of Dignan, but I will say I was proud to fill in as their keyboardist for several months in 2007. The following is a review from a show I played with them in Houston at the Proletariat in 2007.

Press: The Top 10 Women of Valley Rock (June 2008)

Description: Personally, I find this to be the oddest bit of press I've ever been featured in. It's cool that they thought of me, even though I scarcely think I fit the bill! Despite the fact that I have always done my best to steer the spotlight away from me, Melissa, and more toward my actual art, it was still kind of neat to take part in. Somewhat of a taste of what it must have been like for JTT during his Bop years? Articles located at the following links:
